Its all about Money, Heaux's & Clothes - Sex, Drugs & Music - Fashion - Art - Architecture - Good & Evil, Los Angeles, California and all spots near & far - And anything else that serves as candy to my eye!!!
This is a scene from “Suite For Ma Dukes” a 3 disc DVD that was put together to continue the great works of art created by one of hip-hop’s prized producers Jay Dilla.
Most are just now finding out about Jay Dilla’s work, but from my first listen of Jay Dilla’s production back in 1993 I knew he was The TRUTH. I actually tried to sign Slum Village back then, (shout-out to Good Vibe Recordings & J-Cor Records). As the initial deal didn’t happen for the “Fantastic Vol. 2” album, I re-approached them once I was at Capitol Records and signed Slum Village for the “Trinity” album. Tho Jay Dilla’s absence from the project was well felt, I had to and felt necessary to license the classic “Fantastic Vol.2” for re-release.
Alot more to the story but who wants to read that in a blog?? Shit is newsstand worthy what I done did…
Yeah… I Do This Shit!!! For Real!
**sidenote**
Projects like this is what Hip-hop should now be about… preserving the legacy of the greats in a classy, esteemed fashion.
